Callie McBroom, LCSWA
Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate
I am a seasoned social worker with over two decades of experience dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges. My approach as a solution-focused, strength-based therapist empowers individuals to overcome barriers and live their best lives. I specialize in working with adolescents, teens, young adults, and adults, providing a safe and neutral space to address life’s complexities.
If you are motivated and ready to work toward personal growth and change, you’re the kind of client I thrive in assisting. I offer a supportive environment where you can unload your concerns while staying focused on achieving your goals. Together, we can embark on a journey to create “a life worth living.”
My own journey into social work began as a middle school student in a counseling group for “at-risk” students. This experience, guided by an exceptional clinical social worker, shaped my life. He taught me to consider all facets of life when making decisions and inspired me to give back to my community. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree at East Carolina University, becoming the first in my family to attend college. While completing my degree, I married a Marine, which led to a diverse career providing social work services across various communities. In 2022, I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from North Carolina Central University, solidifying my path as a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA).
As a clinical social worker, I take a holistic approach, aiming to uncover the root causes of emotional and mental pain. I employ trauma-informed, person-centered, and strengths-based methods. My toolkit includes evidence-based approaches such as DBT, ACT, CBT, MI, and Mindfulness. I also view experiences through a trauma-focused lens, understanding how past events shape self-perception.
I have a unique affinity for working with military service-connected individuals and their families. Being a Marine Veteran’s wife, I comprehend the challenges and rewards tied to military life. I’m a registered provider with Star Behavioral Health Providers, specializing in this field.
I’m equally committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive space for the LGBTQ+ community. Coming from a Southern Baptist background, I understand the complexities of navigating religious trauma and can help individuals find their path.
Focus on Emerging Adults
I have a special interest in middle school through college-aged students, especially given the impact of COVID-19 on their lives. Having witnessed firsthand the challenges they faced during school closures, I aim to provide comprehensive support to help them regain control and empowerment in their lives. Let’s work together to cultivate “a life worth living.” I look forward to connecting with you and providing the support you need on your journey.
